MLG Columbus

As of right now the tournament in Columbus, Ohio is scheduled for June 3-5 and already has 110 teams signed up. This tournament has double the amount of teams that MLG Dallas had and isn't even the biggest tournament of the year but it has a great turnout expected. Some of the teams that will be there will include EnvyUs, FeaR, Leverage, Resistance, Optic Nation, Obey, Victory Without Sacrifice, and Ground Zero. Should be an interesting turn of events.

Who do you predict to win?

Who will be in the final four?

Questions like these will bring up all kinds of discussions but I'm rolling with Optic Nation.
The tournament will also be live streamed on www.majorleaguegaming.com on June 3-5.

According to Proofy...

Lets talk good gamer talk. What does it take to be considered a good player in Call of Duty? What things do you need to know to make your chances of being considered one of the greatest even higher? Well I asked my brother and he gave me 5 things that have helped him along his way.

1. Knowing the game has to be the most important thing to know. You have to know to pick and choose your battles. If someone has gotten the advantage on you, don't try and shoot it out with them and end up getting picked off, communicate and get cover fire from one of your teammates and take them out when the opportunity presents itself. Also knowing what type of gun battles to get into are also smart. You don't want to use a Ak74U in a long range battle with someone who has a Famas.

2. Being good at the game is actually a given. Obviously if you can't shoot somebody standing still than this isn't your type of game. You're just going to end up watching killcams of how bad you are. I'm not sure what good it will do but if this is your problem, try some combat training. If that fails than TDM (Team Deathmatch) will probably be your best game mode in Pubs.

3. Dedication to the game is demanded. To play on top teams you have to be dedicated and willing to put in hours of practicing, scrimming, and strategies. These things allow you to also get comfortable with the people you play with, learn how they play, and how they react to certain situations. If you can tell how your teammates play than it helps you play better because your thinking like them and chemistry is a very important factor to winning.

4. Having fun playing the game. If your always upset when you're playing because things aren't going your way, than this game will become more stressful and stress does not lead to success. Have fun, when you're having fun everything just seems to click and that goes for a lot more things other than video games.

5. And finally you have to have determination to want to be the best. Michael Jordan didn't become great over night he worked and worked until he was the best. Same thing with gaming. You have to work on stuff like being caught in different situations. What do you do? you go through every possible situation so that when this situation occurs, you're ready for it and know how to react to it. Knowing how long it takes to get from Point A to Point B before you run into someone on the opposing team.

Apply these 5 characteristics and you can be just like Proofy but of course not nearly as good!

Jordan "Proofy" Cannon

When it comes to Call of Duty, how do you name someone as one of the greatest?

They would have to have been around since at least Call of Duty 4 like my brother Jordan "Proofy" Cannon. He first started out as OutColdKilla back in his GRAW 2 days and now he is the infamous Proofy. he's played on many of the best teams on all Call of Duty games from FEAR to Envy and Optic to now Obey. He's been gaming since around the age of 14 when we both started out as split screeners and now he has emerged to one of the greatest. Now at the age of 18, he is going from tournament to tournament placing in Top 5 out of his last 3 tournaments and has one coming up on June 4th in Columbus, Ohio.

Now what makes him so good. Maybe all of the hours he puts in? No because a lot of people put in a lot of hours on those games and are no where near as good as him. Is it his reaction speed? Maybe because i'm amazed at some of the stuff he does some times. What about his knowledge of the game? I think that seperates him from everyone else. His ability to know what other people are going to do and analyze every situation very quickly and have the best chance of being successful. If he were on my team, I wouldn't doubt him if it was 1 vs. 4. He is definately one of COD's Finest!
